If your like me, you are currently enrolled in about 60 social networks in which 50 have been forgotten about and have never been updated. Yes, social networking is GREAT for advertising, but where is the line. Is it overkill own all this dead space on the internet in the hopes that someone will run across your pictureless profile and click that one link in your description?
I manage my networks with 1 Golden Rule..."Am I going to use this service?". if the answer is no, then Zane Savage will not have a profile on that site. However, after discovering sites like Ping.fm and Tubemogul.com make it SO easy to update almost EVERY Social Network out there. I love both services, but this calls into question...are we using social networks ON TOP OF social networks...? It just blows my mind where all social networking IS and where its going. What do you think the future of social networking is? Do you think the recession will kill of many social networking sites? I WANT OPINIONS!!
